Bestimix 70: Luv*Jam

This week’s Besti-mix come courtesy of Coley who produces under the name of Luv*Jam, the name of the parties that a small north Welsh tribe developed to pursue their musical tastes in Wrexham. Some of you might have had the pleasure of experiencing their no-holds-barred party for yourself at this year’s Bestival or at any of the unusual party locations they’ve made their own over the past 12 months; this lot have had it away everywhere from concrete bunkers to the terrace at Space.

Now, comes their own music and art project, Crow Castle Cuts - named after a local medieval fort in Llangollen, whose third release is out on November 11 (lovingly packaged on vinyl only and including ancient text about sacred fairies!), the same date as their next Luv*Jam party.

Right now though, tuck into their Besti-mix, a 23-track vinyl-only recording starring Aphex Twin, Jason Fine and F.U.S.E. (aka Richie Hawtin)…

MNML SSGS Special - Antonio Giova

While operating broadly within the world of deep, hypnotic techno, natural/electronic.system. present their own distinctive take on the sound.  Antonio and Valerio have a special ability for building: allowing the music to breathe and slowly develop. There is a real beauty in the pace and manner in which natural/electronic.system. construct their DJ sets. This is what distinguishes their approach. You will have heard this in the other mixes they’ve done for us (mx23 and mx49), and this time you will hear it in a slightly different context, with the two each doing a separate mix. This week we have one from Antonio, and next week it will be Valerio’s turn.
